Denver, CO – Trinidad State Junior College Head Coach Michael Folda had a little extra pep in his step Saturday at a local AAU tournament, he had just received Eric Andres’ Letter of Intent. Andres, a 6’5 forward, was the second leading scorer(13.7 ppg) and rebounder (7.6 rpg) on a Thomas Jefferson High School basketball team that went 18-8 this past season. “We like to recruit kids from TJ, Coach Lehman does a great job with his kids,” said Coach Folda. Andres was an easy target for Coach Folda, ” He played harder than anybody, in any of the games we saw,” said Folda.
TSJC was an easy choice for Andres “The Coach has been amazing so far. He came to our practices and just hung out. Shot baskets and talked with us,” said Andres. TSJC’s academics and proximity to home was also determining factors for Andres.
Folda is excited about Andres, ” If the kid is going to play hard and be tough, I think he’ll have a chance to come in help us out right away. He will fit in with what we are trying to do for sure.”
