Colorado Club Update
A number of Colorado Club teams have hit the road for the the first evaluation period of April. Club teams are in Dallas, Las Vegas, Anaheim, Houston, and a couple stayed in town.
The Colorado Hawks are joined this year on the Adidas Uprising Circuit by Chauncey Billups Elite. Both programs are fielding teams in the 17U, 16U and 15U divisions.
The Gauntlet series is a bit different this year. More teams and less Gauntlet stops, makes each all the more important. Only 16 teams are invited to the Gauntlet Finals in Atlanta in July.
The Colorado Hawks started their second season in the Gauntlet and finished 4-0 and are in the top bracket headed to Indy the weekend of April 24 -26. There they will face Basketball University and then a possible match up with the Utah Prospects who feature the best shooting guard n the the nation Frank Jackson. Who you may remember from back in December, his high school team Lone Peak played Overland in and he scored 40 plus points. Regardless of the future possible match up the Hawks are off to a good start in the Gauntlet.
Billups first foray into the Gauntlet hasn’t been so kind. The 17’s are 1-3 so far and will play in the consolation Wall Bracket in Indy. Billups started out with a buzzer beater win and then lost at the buzzer to rival D1 Minn. They will face the Dallas Mustangs in their first game who feature 6’7 Oliver Powell and 6’3 G Tyrick Bennett .
