Basketball Colorado All 5A Team 2018

Below are the 12 players on the Basketball Colorado All 5A Team.

5A Player of the Year – Sam Masten -Rock Canyon

All Basketball Colorado Player of the Year.

Sr. Dawson Carper – Rampart

Carper  created an issue in the lane with his ability to alter shots and being able to finish at the rim  with ease.  Not too many  players were going to get rebounds when he was around.

Jr. Ronnie DeGray III – Chaparral

The most improved junior in the state and legitimate POY candidate with his ability to score facing the basket or with his back  to it.

Jr. Kenny Foster – Smoky Hill

Foster did more by forcing less this season which got the Buffaloes to the Coliseum.

Sr. Jon’il Fugett – George Washington

The lead guard that got the Patriots back to the state championship game by being dominating on both ends of the floor.

Sr. Tyson Gilbert – Rock Canyon

Gilbert has that certain something, that at any moment he could erupt for 20 points with his smooth shooting form.

Sr. Joe Golden – Doherty

The only player in 5A to  average a double double that played in over 20 games.  When opposing player matched up with Golden they knew it was going to be along night in the paint with the future UNC DE/TE.

Sr. Kaison Hammonds – ThunderRidge

Played the role of facilitator very well this season getting the Grizzlies back to the final four.

Sr. Daylen Kountz -Denver East

Led 5A in scoring this season and had some spectacular finishes.

Jr. Kwane  Marble – Denver East

Marble proved that he is one of the best players in the state with his ability to get to the rim and lock down on defense.

Jr. Dayne Prim – Grandview

Not sure anyone in 5A had a better all around performance the last half of the season. Prim showed that he  could own the lane on both ends of the floor leading the Wolves to their first boy’s basketball state championship.

Sr. Tucson Redding – Overland

though was his ability to know when to set others up and when to get to the basket himself.
