Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 Week of January 14, 2018

Last week was about as an exciting week in the Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 that there has been in sometime. At the time #10 George Washington had a great week going 3-0 and soundly defeating two Top10 teams along the way. The Centennial League continues to grind through Top10 teams with Grandview and Smoky Hill losing. Even though Jeffco 5A and the Front Range Leagues do not have any teams in the Top10 those league are wide open as well a number of upsets taking place in those leagues.  Oh and guess what, the RPI comes out this week. So that will be fun.

1. Rock Canyon (13-0)

Jaguars roaring right along.  A challenge maybe coming with Regis this week and Pondo looking for a big win as well.

2.  ThunderRidge (12-1)

ThunderRidge handled Regis last week and will try and do the same to Douglas County this week.

3. Grandview (11-2)

Lost to Eaglecrest on Saturday and Centennial League play continues with a big match up with #9 Overland and Creek this week.

4. George Washington (10-5)

The Patriots went 3-0 as mentioned above. This week they take on Montbello (FNE) on Tuesday night at Manual.

5.  Chaparral (11-3)

The Wolverines lost to GW and beat Mountain Vista last week. Pondo and Castle View this week and both of those teams are hungry for a big win.

6. Denver East (10-2)

The Angels travel to Nebraska to take on Bellevue West this Saturday.

7. Regis Jesuit (11-3)

Raiders lost last week to GW and ThunderRidge. Three game week this and two of those games are against Top10 teams.

8 .  Doherty (11-2)

Spartans started league play off with two wins  now face rival Rampart and Regis this week.

9. Overland (6-7)

Has anyone played a tougher schedule? Now 4-0 in the toughest league in the state.  Grandview and Mullen on are on the schedule for this week.

10 . Smoky Hill (8-5)

Smoky Hill lost to Overland in one of the craziest finishes I have seen. This week they are at home to Arapahoe and Eaglecrest.
