Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 Week of Jan 15th

The second week of January was not as chaotic for the Top10 as the first was but a couple of Top10 teams did take an L last week. #2 East fell to Lakewood and #4 Eaglecrest lost to # 7 Grandview. This week the Centennial League is the place to be with three games that involve Top1o teams.
Denver South, Fort Collins, Liberty, Montbello (FNE), and Regis Jesuit are all in the mix to break the Top10 soon.
With the way, this season has been going expect a few more losses for Top10 teams leading up to the tournament.
1. ThunderRidge (12-1)
The Grizzlies remain undefeated against in-state opponents. ThunderRidge will play Douglas County and Castle View this week.
2. George Washington (12-2)
GW bounced back after the loss to ThunderRidge and left no doubt aginst Chaparral and Rangeview. The Patriots will play Montbello on Tuesday night at the Thunderdome that game hasn’t been played on a Tuesday in over 15 years. Then Regis Jesuit on Saturday.
3. Chatfield (11-1)
The Chargers continue to blow teams away. Next up for Chatfield Bear Creek and Dakota Ridge.
4. Grandview (12-1)
Grandview had an incredible come from behind victory over Eaglecrest last week. Now the Wolves face a very tough Overland team and then play #9 Cherry Creek on Saturday.
5. Rock Canyon (11-2)
After being victorious in their last non-league game the Jaguars start off Continental play with Regis and Ponderosa.
6. Denver East (9-4)
After last week’s loss to Lakewood, the Angels look to bounce back against Thomas Jefferson on Saturday at the Thunderdome.
7. Smoky Hill (10-3)
Smoky Hill has a tough week ahead with gritty Arapahoe and then Colbey Ross and the Eaglecrest Raptors on Friday.
8. Eaglecrest (9-3)
The Raptors have the second toughest week in the Centennial League. The Raptors take on #9 Cherry Creek on Wednesday and Smoky Hill on Friday.
9. Cherry Creek (12-1)
The Bruins have the toughest week in the Centennial League this week. At the Nest to take on Eaglecrest and then host #4 Grandview on Saturday.
10. Doherty (9-3)
The Spartans have only one game this week but it is a big one. Doherty host’s Rampart with 6’8 Jackson Ehrlin and 6’11 Dawson Carper. The Spartan have to take care of business to stay a top of the Colorado Springs Metro League.
