Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 – Week of February 5th

There are very few changes in the 5A Top10 this week as most of the Top10 went undefeated last week. This week has some very intriguing Top10 games this week like #3 Grandview at #6 Eaglecrest and #7 Doherty at #8 Denver East.
The only change in the Top10 came with Smoky Hill dropping out. The Buffaloes are on a five game losing streak. The Buffaloes did not drop far and could be back in the Top10 by the end of the season.
1. ThunderRidge 18-1, 6-0
Only four games are left in the regular season for the Grizzlies and the competition is starting to ramp back up. ThunderRidge is at Chaparral on Tuesday and then host rival Mountain Vista on Friday.
2. George Washington 17-2, 4-0
This week the Patriots take on Thomas Jefferson on Monday and Denver West on Friday. The big game is on the 18th versus Denver East which will more than likely for the DPL title. Patriots can’t get complacent.
3. Chatfield 18-1, 10-0
Chatfield has wrapped up the Jeffco 5A league title and now basically getting ready for the playoffs. Ralston Valley and Bear Creek try to slow the Chargers down.
4. Grandview 18-1, 9-1
The Wolves are tied atop of the Centennial Leauge with #6 Eaglecrest. These two powers meet on Wednesday at Eaglecrest for what will more than likely decide the league championship and will have state tournament seeding implications. Then on Friday Grandview takes on Overland.
5. Rock Canyon 17-2, 6-0
Rock Canyon keeps the machine rolling along towards possibly their first league crown in school history. Jaguars may get pushed by Legend this week and need to be leery of Highlands Ranch on Friday.
6. Eaglecrest 16-3, 9-1
The Raptors host #3 Grandview on Wednesday and then at Cherry Creek on Friday. Big week for Eaglecrest
7. Doherty 15-3, 9-0
Doherty has a big three-game stretch this week. #8 Denver East on Tuesday and then the Spartans take on rivals Rampart and Palmer on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
8. Denver East 14-5, 5-0
East will get a different look with Doherty coming to town on Tuesday in a matchup of Top10 teams. Then the Angels face always tough Denver South on Saturday.
9. Fort Collins 16-3, 8-0
The Lambkins have a strangle hold on the Front Range League championship. This week the Lambkins take on Poudre and Horizon.
10. Rampart 14-5, 6-2
The Rams jump back into the Top10 rankings this week. Doherty faces the only two teams it has lost to in league play when they take on Liberty and then #7 Doherty this week.
