Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 Week of December 3rd

The first week of the high school basketball season was full of excitement on the court.  The Rock Canyon Jaguars appear to be the class of teh state at the moment and teams like Smoky Hill and ThunderRidge are itching to prove they belong in the top spot.

#1 Rock Canyon 3-0

Took care of GW with ease and cruised to tourney championship.  Jags go on their Aurora swing this week to play Eaglecrest and Overland.

# 2 Smoky Hill 2-0

The Buffaloes easily ran past Brighton and Hinkley. Should get their first real test in Utah this week.

# 3 ThunderRidge 4-0

The Grizzlies were only challenged once in California that was by JSerra but had an epic third quarter and went on to win.  The host their annual tournament this week. It ‘s a good solid field and could be an interesting final.

#4 Denver East 3-0

East got another GoJo championship this past week and should run through the Fairview Hoopfest.

#5 Regis Jesuit 2-0

Regis with stood an Overland comeback attempt. Regis heads out to the DeLaSalle Tournament and will get tested.

#6 Overland 0-1

Overland was missing a key member of their team against Regis and could have been a difference maker.  GW and Rock Canyon this week.

#7 George Washington 2-1

The Patriots fell hard against Rock Canyon but bounced back against Arapahoe. GW has Poudre and  Overland this week.

#8 Doherty 1-0

Dispensed of Bear Creek .  Looking forward to the ThunderRidge Tournament this week.

#9  Chaparral 1-0

Mauled the Kinghts and are hoping to meet up with ThunderRidge in the finals this week.

#10 Rampart 2-1

Lost to GW but it was close  they have Vista Ridge and Montbello this week.

Others – Rangeview 3-0,  Eaglecrest 2-1
