Basketball Colorado 5A Top10 – Week 2

It was a fun first week of the season. #1 Eaglecrest got pushed to the brink by a superb Chatfield team. #2 George Washington vs. #3 Rock Canyon came down the final moments as well. Week 2 is full of top ten games. #1 Eaglecrest and Colbey Ross take on #5 Rock Canyon on Wednesday

Eaglecrest (2-0)
The Raptors answered the bell against an excellent Chatfield team. They will have a different yet equally as challenging game versus #5 Rock Canyon on Wednesday.

George Washington (3-0)
The Patriots will face a difficult challenge in new #10 Overland. Patriots will need to limit the turnovers if they want to defeat a tough Overland team.
3. 
Grandview (1-0)
The Wolves have a scrappy Legend team, an athletic and fearless Rangview squad in their first two games of the week. In the third game of the week, the Wolves will face Mountian Vista in a match-up of the best big men in the senior class.

Doherty (1-0)
The Spartans will take part in the ThunderRidge Tipoff Tournament and will face 4A #3 Valor in the opening round. If Doherty makes it to the championship game, they could face #8 ThunderRidge.
5.
Rock Canyon (2-1)
The Jaguars lost in a tough, hard-fought game against GW in the championship game of their tournament on Saturday. Rock Canyon will face #1 Eaglescrest and then take for a tournament in San Antonio, TX.
6. Smoky Hill (2-0)
The Buffaloes finished the first week unscathed and headed off to Utah to take on Lone Peak and Wasatch. Both teams are always two of the top programs in Utah and will be a great test for Smoky Hill.
7. Denver East (3-0)
East won the GOJO tournament at Fossil Ridge last week. The Angels will have four games this week three at the Fairview Festival and then face Hinkley on Saturday. East’s toughest game of the week will be either Denver South or Sierra in the finals of the Fairview Festival.
8. ThunderRidge (1-0)
The Grizzlies had a solid win over Boulder last week. This week ThunderRidge hosts their tournament and could face #4 Doherty or 4A power #3 Valor in the finals.
9. 
Lakewood (3-0)
The Tigers are off to a fast start after going undefeated at the Best of Colorado Tournament last week. Assuming Lakewood can hold off Castle View, the Tigers will face their toughest test to date when they travel to #10 Cherokee Trail on Friday.
10. Overland (1-0)
The Trailblazers have one game this week, and it’s against #2 George Washington. This game will be a good match-up, one that Overland can win.
10. B Cherokee Trail (3-0)
Senior guard Jaizec Lottie led the Cougars to the Best of Colorado Tournament championship. Lottie has been on a tear so far this season averaging over 20 ppg a game. CT and #9 Lakewood square off on Friday.
