Basketball Colorado 4A Top10 – Week of Jan 22

The first RPI rankings of the season were released last Wednesday and the class  4A rankings drew the most attention. Sand Creek, our #1 team wasn’t in the top 10 and there were a few other discrepancies. However, with the RPI updated daily expect a number of changes through the rest of the season.   There are a number of big games this week across 4A  involving Top10 teams. 

 

1.  Sand Creek (14-1) 

The biggest game in the state this week takes place on Wednesday between #1 Sand Creek and now 5A Vista Ridge.  The game features two of the state’s premiere players; Sand Creek’s senior and CU signee D’shawn Schwartz and Vista Ridge senior and Wyoming signee Hunter Maldonado.  The difference makers in this game though could be Sand Creek’s Jeffery Gary and Vista Ridge’s Noah Beatty.  The Scorpions then face Lewis-Palmer. 

2. Pueblo West (13-1)

In another big time game, the Cyclones travel to #4 Pueblo South on Tuesday.  When the Cyclones and Colts tangle it is always a good game. West vs. East on Friday wont be boring either. 

3. Valor Christian (11-4)

Littleton and Standley Lake this week look for Jalen Sanders to continue his great play. The last four games the talented senior has scored 30, 26, 25, and 30.

4. Pueblo South (10-4)

The Cyclones on Tuesday and then Centennial on Friday.

5.  D’Evelyn (13-2)

The Jags are undefeated since the break and will look to add Golden on Wednesday and Evergreen on Friday to their beaten list.

6. Golden (12-3)

Golden lost to Evergreen last week and now have a long road to get the league crown. The Demons face D’Evelyn and Wheat Ridge this week.

7. Sierra (11-3)

CJ Jennings and the Stallions take on Dalen Jackson and  Mesa Ridge on Tuesday. Jennings has been having a stellar senior year and Jackson can go to. On Thursday Widefield comes to Sierra. 

8. Holy Family (11-4)

Roosevelt and Skyline are on the menu this week for the Tigers. 

9. Silver Creek (11-1) 

The Raptors are back in the Top10  and face Centaurus and then look to revenge an earlier season loss to Northridge. 

10. Mead (12-3)

Mead looks to bounce back from their loss to Holy Family this week with games against Berthoud and Roosevelt.
