Longmont is the top seed in this region and won their first game of the tournament by 30. Pueblo Central will provide a good test for the Trojans. Golden is the lone Jeffco team left in 4A and they are coming together at the right time. Harrison is playing well behind Donta Dawson and Orlando Westbrook-Sanchez III.
Pueblo Central @ Longmont
The Pueblo Central Wildcats have had a great bounce-back season and know they get to test Longmont. The Wildcats play tough and hard-nosed led by guards Nico Martin and Ben Beltran.
Longmont is 24-0 and has only have been pushed recently by Greeley Central. Greeley Central is the only team this year to get the Trojans to overtime. The Trojans have a plethora of seniors and experience to pull from. But the one that gets Longmont going is lead guard Brady Renck. He has vision, pace, and smarts to get Longmont in the right spots. Forwards Beck Page and Dallas Dye are big contributors as well.
As long as the Trojans aren’t having a poor shooting night and stay out of foul trouble they should be advancing to host the winner of Golden and Harrison. However, if the shots are falling and Central get hot the Wildcats could put some pressure on the Trojans.
Golden @ Harrison
The Golden Demons had a bit of a bumpy start to the season but as league play closed they were hitting on all cylinders. It showed how well on the road at Glenwood Springs getting the double-digit victory. Ilja Bubukin leads the Demons in scoring. Golden likes to play defense which usually leads to easy baskets for them.
Harrison is a young team led by a first-year head basketball coach and a sophomore Donta Dawson. Dawson is uber talented and he has playmakers around him as well in
