Hoops for a Cause Jamboree – Update
11/23/2016
The inaugural Hoops for a Cause Jamboree is set to take place on Saturday, November 26th at Manual High School. The inspiration behind the event is the memory of Reese Naylor, the daughter of a childhood friend, who lost her battle with cancer in the summer of 2016 at the young age of 13.
While there is no cost to enter the event, we are suggesting at least a five-dollar donation per person at the door. A toy drop will also be available in lieu of a cash donation. Toys must be new and in their original packaging.
The goal for this amazing event is to support children and their families who are fighting life-threatening injuries or illnesses, specifically pediatric cancers. Each year the donations collected at the door go to a different organization in support of these families. All donations collected at the door will be donated in Reese’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
“Since 1979, Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Denver has offered a loving home away from home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they’re being treated at metropolitan area hospitals.”
Teams participating in this year’s event are Denver East, Highlands Ranch, Lakewood, Legacy, Monarch, Manual, Overland, Sand Creek, and Smoky Hill. This will be a good chance to come out and see some the better teams and some of the best players that Colorado has to offer.
