Hoops For A Cause
9/29/2016
On Saturday, November 26th Basketball Colorado will bring together some of the top teams and players in the state to scrimmage in the Hoops For A Cause Jamboree at the historic Manual ThunderDome. Teams expected to attend are the following: Denver East, Lakewood, Legacy, Manual, Monarch, Overland, Sand Creek, and Smoky Hill. The top player in each of the Classes of 2017, 2018, and 2019 are expected to be playing with their teams.
The goal for this amazing event is to support children and their families who are fighting life-threatening injuries or illnesses, specifically pediatric cancers. Each year the donations collected at the door go to a different organization in support of these families. The inspiration behind the event is the memory of Reese Naylor, the daughter of a childhood friend, who lost her battle with cancer in the summer of 2016 at the young age of 13. While there is no cost to enter the event, we are suggesting at least a five-dollar donation per person at the door. All donations collected at the door will be donated in Reese’s memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
“Since 1979, Ronald McDonald House® Charities of Denver has offered a loving home away from home to families needing to be near their seriously ill or injured children while they’re being treated at metropolitan area hospitals.”
Scrimmages are tentatively scheduled to begin at 9:00 A.M. on the 26th. A full schedule will be posted at a later date.
