2 Official Visits Set for 2018 Adam Thistlewood
When it comes to his recruiting 6’7 wing Adam Thistlewood from Golden says it has been bit of a whirlwind. With schools expressing interest and receiving offers from a wide range of schools literally from coast to coast and parts in between it is easy to see why.
Thistlewood had a great summer with his club team B&B Academy. The crowd of coaches grew over the summer at each of his games with new schools stopping by to evaluate him. Thistlewood was very much the team player and focused on being a complete player with his club team. The scoring part would take care of itself he said and wanted to show coaches other parts of his game. He wasn’t worried about his exposure to college coaches as his club coach told him that “if you can play, they will find you.”
Thistlewood hold offers from Army, Air Force, Colorado State, Davidson, University of Denver, Drake, Metro State, Mines and Northern Colorado*. There is also interest from Santa Clara, Santa Barbara, and a few Ivy League schools. With parents that both graduated from the School of Mines academics are an important factor for the future Computer Science major. Another piece of the equation for the talented wing is a coaching staff that believes in him. The final factor will be his opportunity to play right away although red shirting doesn’t scare off Thistlewood. “My dad red shirted at Mines and he said it was the best thing for him,” said Thistlewood.
Thistlewood has recently taken unofficial visits to Colorado State and Drake both netting offers and will unofficially visit Princeton soon. He has two official visits scheduled for this fall. First he will visit Drake August 23, and will then visit Davidson the first weekend in September. There maybe more visits scheduled however Thistlewood would like to have his decision made by the end of September.
